Porcelain base tiles on the other hand, have a more dense impervious nature, making then stronger and having extremely low water absorption. Modern technology has ensured that manufacturing costs for glazed porcelain are just as competitive as for ceramic tiles.
The most common question customers ask is do glazed porcelain tiles need to be sealed?’ No, they don’t. Glazed porcelain tiles require minimal maintenance. They are commonly confused with porcelain stoneware tiles.
Remember, it is only the base of a glazed porcelain tile that is porcelain in material, and the top is sealed with an impervious glaze, and hence requires no further sealing or treatment. Just simply mop clean and you’re done!

Tile Tip: Always buy extra
When purchasing tiles it’s always a good idea to get an extra box or two to store away in case of repairs. As tiles are made of natural products and then fired, every time a tile is made they are graded into different batches for shade and size variation. Having a few boxes spare of the same batch you originally purchased ensures that any repair will look as though it never happened.

Grout performs an important role in the tiling process. Not only does it provide a functional role, but it can aesthetically enhance your tiling project by highlighting features, or the tiles themselves.
